An Apple trademark filing for an AR headset has already secured a name. "Reality" coming soon?

Apple is now hearing rumors about a recent trademark filing aimed at securing a name for the soon-to-be wearable device, the company’s highly speculated AR headset. There is no information from Cupertino.

Nonetheless, the company is currently trying to secure a name for its next technology, with a heavy focus on the “reality” prefix for its designated devices.

Bloomberg reported that Apple has already filed trademark applications in various countries to secure a name for an AR/VR headset it is currently developing. Apple has submitted applications to countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay.

The report also suggests that Apple has filed a trademark with this name in the EU.

Tim Cook Earlier, Apple said it was already close to developing an augmented reality venture, technology that would be available to users on their iPhones and iPads. Users will also see this AR focus during Apple’s event, with a focus on integrating the theme of that event into AR features that users can interact with via their Apple devices.

Rumors claim there is ‘reality’ in the name

According to CNET, Bloomberg said these names have “reality” as their primary designation and additional titles like iPhone and MacBook devices.

Three names have already appeared in the trademark application, including “Reality One,” “Reality Pro,” and “Reality Processor,” as reserved names for wearable technology. However, filing a trademark application does not necessarily mean that the device will be released to the world.

Apple’s AR/VR headset venture

There have been mixed reports of an AR/VR headset or glasses that Apple is aiming to bring to the public, and will soon offer wearable devices that extend the experience into virtual worlds. According to various reports, the wearable device will appear in his January 2023 and will be in development by early next year.

The 2023 timeline comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent Apple analyst with a track record of releasing claims from the company.

Another report says that Apple’s headset or glasses are already nearing completion and will focus on the upcoming public rollout of wearable devices. Still, the rumor is wildly false, as Apple didn’t announce it at its Worldwide Developers’ Conference (WWDC) last June.
