OC Marathon Offers Thousands Scenic Runs – Orange County Register

2,000 people tapped into their inner strength as they ran or walked 26.2 miles (approximately 26.2 miles) on Sunday to reach the finish line of the SDCCU OC Marathon.

Thousands more completed the half marathon, 5K and kids run this weekend as part of the festivities celebrating the county and a healthy lifestyle.

We enjoyed some of Orange County’s most iconic sights, including the sparkling blue waters from the Pacific Coast Highway, the serene marshes of Back Bay, the architecture of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and the surrounding area. Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Santa Ana.

The marathon finish at the OC Fair & Events Center had a festive atmosphere with bands playing and people cheering as they lightened their feet for the last mile or so.

Her first marathon was won by 48-year-old Heather Huggins, who finished the race in 3:7:29. JJ Santana won with his time of 2:22:57.
