Mike Trout For most of the last decade, he was the best player in baseball. He’s put in a good amount of time the past few seasons, but now he’s back on the field, proving that he could still be the best player in baseball.
On Saturday, Trout hit a home run that went into the record. It was his sixth home run in a game, setting a franchise record for consecutive games in a home run. Trout is two games away from tying the home run streak record held by Ken Griffey Jr., Don Mattingly and Dale Long this week.
Welcome to this week’s Team of the Week. This week was headlined by none other than Mike Trout. Trout is one of only two players to total 30 or more bases this week, and in OPS he trailed only Bichette.

Child: Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals
Molina joins Albert Pujols in the time machine. Molina hit two homers this week and averaged .429. He was one of two catchers with multiple home runs and a .400-plus average.
1B: freddie freeman, los angeles dodgers
Only one first baseman hit a total of 20 bases this week, and only one had a .400 batting average while hitting multiple home runs. That person is Freeman, who batted .417 this week with 21 bases and three home runs.
2B: Vaughan Grissom, Atlanta Braves
Grissom is another rookie to step up to the Braves this season, and this week was no exception for the young second baseman. 421 batting average, the highest of any second baseman with 10 or more at-bats, and the most eight hits of any second baseman.

This week, Escobar was one of only three players (Aaron Judge and Bichette) to hit .
SS: Beau Bichette, toronto blue jays
It was an exceptional week for Bichette, who led all players in RBI (11), hits (16), extra base hits (10), and RBI (13). He hit .500 and hit five homers in the week, putting him up to a staggering 1.156 SLG%.

Varsho was one of only two outfielders to hit five or more home runs last week, and more than half of his hits were home runs.Varsho has excelled both as a catcher and center fielder this season. It works and deserves a lot of credit. Get a man who can do both!

Judges continued his advance into history by adding two more home runs this week for a total of 55 home runs. Judges say Roger is six short of tying his league record for American Maris. He joined Trout in totaling over 25 bases last week and he was one of only two outfielders to score five or more runs. 500 with his OPS of 1.543.
OF: Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
DH: Max MuncyLos Angeles Dodgers
539 for the week with three home runs and an OPS of 1.846. He’s breathing fire at bat, showing signs of heating up at just the right time for the Dodgers. Even in a tough season, Munch showed this week the ability we’ve come to expect from him over the past few years, as he was the only Dodger in the week with OPS above his 1.400.

SP: Lance Lynn, chicago white sox
Lynn went 2-0 on the mound last week, but didn’t give up a single run and allowed only five hits in 13 innings. He also stole 16 batters. Lynn was the only pitcher this week to pitch 10 or more innings without allowing an earned run.
CP: Jordan RomanoToronto Blue Jays
Romano’s three saves are tied for most majors in the past week. He allowed no runs in the time and stole seven batters in the process. It was a great week.
