The Roland-Story football team played tough against No. 10 (Class 3A) Nevada for the half, but suffered a strong Cub ground game on Friday with a 49-26 loss to the Norsemen at Story City’s Kerry Van Winkle Field. could not be delayed.

Roland-Story gave a big scare to the Nevada team that defeated the Northmen a year ago by a score of 64-7.

Claire Truesdell 2nd in the Belmond-Klemme Invite
Roland-Story’s Claire Truesdell had a strong race to take second place as an individual for the Roland-Story women’s cross-country team at the Belmond-Klemme Invitational on September 6th.
Truesdell completed the 5km course in 21:5.23, just ahead of Clear Lake’s Addison Doughan (19:45.88). Makena Carlson was 16th in 23:33.32, Brooke Thompson was 40th in 25:36.65, Faith Springer was 51st in 26:49.77 and Olivia Younes was 57th in 27:24.30.
Evan Voga finished 22nd with a time of 19:09.8 over 5km to lead the Roland-Story men’s run of the event. Lucas Hart was 48th in 20:18.2, Lucas Webker was 53rd in 20:45.5, Nolan Lord was 54th in 20:51.2 and Tate Lande was 57th in 21:02.6 to complete the scoring for the North Boys.

Norwegian volleyball team struggles after first set against Green County
The Roland-Story volleyball team got off to a strong start but stalled after the first set against Green County.
The Norse averaged only 8.3 kills per set at 7.1% efficiency, compared to Green County’s 12.8% and 32.1% respectively. Roland-Story also gave up 13 blocks and he recorded 8 blocks.
